Sunset from Castell Y Gaer
We have just returned from the most fantatsic week in North Wales. The weather has been stunning and the company delightful. We stayed with two other families in a very large house called Llanfendigaid which is near Twyn and Aberdovey. There were 19 of us altogether including two very young children - 3 generations now. We stayed here every year for 10 years when our children were small but hadn't been back for 13 years and decided it was time for a revisit. Some of the children now have partners and in one case children of their own. It was wonderful for all of us to relive old memories and make new ones. We spent the week doing all of the old things: walks, beach, crabbing, Tall Y Llyn Railway, golf and even discovered a new interest - geocahcing! Each morning I rose early and was down by the Dysynni Estuary at 6.30. It was wonderful down there at this time of the morning and I seemed to have the world to myself. The birds also seem more approachable at that time of day and I was very pleased with the pictures I came away with.
