First Session of the Season at Bradley Woods

Article text
After a spring and summer of photographing insects and neglecting birds, it is always good to get back to grips with the long lenses. With this in mind I have made two visits this last week to a local woodland 5 minutes from home. Bradley Woods is always a good spot to visit - many different people put food out so the bird life is used to being fed and as it is such a public place the birds are used to people. There are also nuthatches in good numbers and a tree creeper visits regularly. On both occasions, no sooner had I set up my perches and put food out than the birds were coming down. In no time at all I had enough images to keep me amused for a while when I returned home. I have photographed Jays here in the past and I live in hope that I will get a return visit from one of these stunning birds.
