Wild Shots Holiday in Scotland

Article text
I had decided to take part in a winter wild life photography week in Scotland at the end of February. This was organised by Wildshots Photographic holidays and run by Peter Cairns and John MacPherson. The facilities and catering at Ballintean, a converted steading in Glen Feshie, were excellent and the encouragement and tuition from Peter and John unsurpassed. The week was made all the better for the warm and friendly group of photographers who came from as far afield as Spain. Unfortunately we were not blessed with crisp Scottish winter weather but this did not discourage us and many fine photographs were taken. I was delighted to get shots of woodpecker, crested tit, coal tit, red squirrel and red deer. We also had an excellent day with three captive raptors under controlled conditions - snowy owl, golden eagle and great grey owl. A brilliant week.
