Kirkby Pits Lincolnshire Trust Reserve.

Article text
Great Crested Grebe, Kirkby Pits.
I called in at this small reserve on my way home from Sleaford and only had time for a short visit. However in that short time I was able to see some interesting species including kingfisher and black tern, although I have to admit the back tern was pointed out to me by someone else. There was also a small colony of common terns who had had a fair amount of breeding success and I was able to photograph lapwing and great crested grebe all be it at quite a distance.

A very pleasant hour I shall be visiting here again.
