Denia from the apartment
My wife's brother and his wife had invited us to share a holiday with them in their time share in Spain and we were delighted to accept. The apartment complex was on the outskirts of Denia just north of Benidorm and Calpe. It is surrounded by the Montgo National park at the foot of Mount Montgo. This is a wonderful area of mountains, cliffs pine woods and low scrubland. There were plentiful black redstarts and sardinian warblers in the scrub across the road from the appartment and it had a wonderful aroma of wild herbs. I actually photographed black redstart close to the centre of town. Whilst walking in the National Park we had good sightings of crag martin, booted eagle, bonellis eagle and mediterranean gull among many others. We were interested to note that the numerous starlings were spotless.
