An Hour at the Feeding Station

Article text
It had been sometime since I had managed to get a session at the feeding station at the woodyard and as it was a good cold morning decided to grab an hour to see what was happening. As it happened an hour was as much as I could stand as the strong easterly wind was bitterly cold. All of the usual suspects were there bar the woodpeckers but a flock of starlings have begun to visit, although I have yet to get a good image. In new breeding plumage they are handsome birds. I was also delighted to note that a fine male yellowhammer was coming down.
Snow is forecast so hopefully in a day or so there will be some good winter conditions here.
